3/26/15 – Check Up at Penn

On our way back from Dr. G. My blood counts continue to look good. Platelets all the way up to 97.

We discussed hitting the disease with maintenance earlier than the 100 day mark which is the norm. Today is day 50.

He hit me with a few options including a clinical trial at Penn which could be promising. There is a new drug called an HDAC inhibitor.

So far, he has not been able to amend the Penn T Cell trial. The board said no to his request. I am not strong enough anyway to do it now and they have fulfilled their requirement. The trial starts up again in June I think so we will see what happens.

We will see where my myeloma markers are when they come back in a few days and I also want to speak with Dr. J (and Dr. Jeff) before making a decision on which route to go. We will probably decide sometime next week.

One more thing … I drove for the first time since Thanksgiving maybe?  I drove Helene into town to her favorite place … Starbucks!

Skeletor drives!

  1. I thought that was you who honked at me in front of Starbucks yesterday! I tried to follow the car into the lot to make sure but couldn’t find you…. Glad to hear you’re up and about and feeling stronger.

  2. Skeletor? Pfft. From that photo looking way more like Vin Diesel to me 😉 We have been cheering you on quietly from the sidelines….loving the good news!

  3. Skeletor…hmmm. Probably make a good movie cartoon. Brad, much good news. And since little things mean a lot, I can bet the driving to Starbucks was a pretty awesome experience. Keep on being Bradstrong.
