9/23/14 – The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men

Very quick update on today’s action. Will write more tomorrow. Went into Mt. Sinai to get hooked into the 96 hour chemo back pack. But – came back with something much different. Long story short, my hemoglobin was very low so I got two bags of blood and my calcium levels were off so I got a Zometa transfusion.

We will try for the chemo hook up Friday.

I am feeling OK if a little tired. This battle is becoming tougher with each unknown day but there is a lot of fight in this old dog.

Hero of the day was Doug Bushell who thought he was driving me in for a simple 3 hour procedure which turned out to be a 12 hour ordeal. Thanks man. He didn’t even flinch.

Thanks everyone. I am feeling great. Will answer individual texts and emails tomorrow. Love you all!

  1. Hi Brad! Matt and I think about you often and read every single one of your posts. You are so strong and Brave. I know it must be incredibly hard as you are a young man and my mom is so sick with cancer and she is older and the fight is just awful for her- so glad youth is on your side. AND you have the love of an amazing family and friends. Keep up the fight! You will win.
When you are ready to make your movie let me know . I may have a few connections for you. The blog is really inspiring! xxoo

  2. Brad,
your energy ought to improve greatly with the transfusion. I’ve had over 20, most in my first two years. With improved energy, you’ll be ready to kick myeloma’s ass. I know you’re going to get the upper hand on this pain in the ass disease. Your attitude and approach is what I strive for. I’m here for you and sending a whole lot of positive energy in your direction.

  3. Dear Brad, tonight the gate will open and when they close with the blowing of the Shofar next Saturday night, you will be written in the book for a year of successful treatment, full health with lots of your well-known energy. Our love to you, Helene, Victor and Eva and wishing all of you a most happy, HEALTHY, prosperous and joyous New Year. L’Shana Tova, Uncle Herb & Aunt Roberta
