Victor’s uniform fitting for travel baseball was last night. He has been number 5 every year since he started playing. This conversation happened last night in our house:
VICTOR: Dad, I’m not going to be number 5 this year. I’m going to be number 49.
ME: Okay buddy.
VICTOR: Dad, do you know why?
ME: No, buddy. Tell me why.
VICTOR: Because one out of every one hundred forty nine people will get Multiple Myeloma. I looked it up.
ME: ***no words***
That really happened. He’s 10.
